Terrie Koles Design, is a full service, boutique-sized design and art consultation firm located in Lower Manhattan. Terrie Koles, its owner and founder, is a designer with a background in fine arts (MFA-painting), art direction (print and film), and interior design.
Koles' career began as an award-winning art director with some of Manhattan's most highly regarded advertising agencies. Her national and international TV and print campaigns have been featured in AdWeek, Advertising Age, Communication Arts, Archive, Newsday Magazine, and Art Direction Magazine, where her entire portfolio was showcased.
Koles' work as the creative force behind designing and executing conceptual, 3-D installations for a breakthrough research methodology has been featured on the front cover of The New York Times (Focus Groups that Look Like Playgroups) business section.
With her experience working on film and tv, segueing into interior design was a natural progression. Almost immediately after opening her own design firm, TKD's outstanding interior design was accclaimed and awarded, including, "Best of Houzz Design 2018", "Best of Houzz Design 2016", "22 Melavigliose Case di Houzz 2015" for Houzz Italia as well as being recognized in Refinery29. Additionally, Koles' strong relationships in the art world has allowed her to infuse every project with the understanding art has in the designing of a home - as seen in this article for Houzz, as well as this one.
Private residences or commercial spaces, Koles favorite aspect of design is collaborating with a client to transform their vision and taste into a coherent design. The results are interiors that feel comfortable, sophisticated, and most importantly reflect the client’s personality.
In an effort to give back, TKD has also teamed up with nonprofit organizations, including The Pajama Program to design and execute site specific, tailor-made projects for high profile fund raising events.
